I may be the last to know but I got it now! Shopping on the web is something I have done frequently in the past, but what I found missing was a good review of the product and the latest/best price.
Here is what I have gleaned – better yet – what I have saved.
My current favorite is http://zdnetshopper.cnet.com/ I prefer this over http://www.bizrate.com/ and http://www.mysimon.com/. The latter two have product reviews, price comparisons, store ratings and products that range from apparel to wireless gizmos. This often presents too much information as well as temptation.
Since many of my purchases are tech oriented ZDNet works best for me. The Epson 2400 or 2450 scanner has my fancy. At ZDNet Shopper you’ll find a clean interface that quickly directs you to product categories as well as special features. Most important to me were the top right buttons, links to Products, Brands, Most Popular, Editor’s Choice, Magazine, and Price Drops. Everything I needed was there, but there is also a link centered under the banners for “Scanner SuperCenter” as well as Desktop SuperCenter, etc. On that first page you can also see the “Popular Products” with links to latest prices and “Price Drops” by category. The price comparisons, product reviews, editor’s choices and ability to email you with the latest price changes make this a terrific place to start your quest.
